Navabashanam is another name for a beach village. Here, it is said, Lord Rama worshipped Navagraha. This nearby temple is devoted to Devi, who is believed to have defeated the monster Mahishasura here. Here, Hindus conduct religious ceremonies in honor of their ancestors.The temple of Devipattinam is connected to Lord Rama. Numerous folktales surround this historic shrine. Legend has it that Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, Goddess Parvati, and Adi Jagannatha Perumal before going to war to destroy the Demon Ravana, who had abducted Goddess Sita. In addition, Lord Rama installed nine distinct stones, each of which represented one of the nine celestial bodies, as an offering to the navagrahas. Here he had then performed the navagraha puja. Since then, nine navagraha stones are allegedly situated in the water, roughly 100 meters out from the coast.
